| The aviation community as a whole experienced a blow this week with lose of a well known and highly exprience aviator, flight instructor and friend. As hearts are with Don.s family and close friends. There will be a covered dinner/social in honor of Don at the Moontown Airport Lounge, Saturday, July 12 at 5pm, following his burial. James Donald Langford Dec. 26, 1946 - July 9, 2008 James Donald Langford, 61, of Huntsville passed away Wednesday. He was born in West Point , Miss. , on Dec. 26, 1946. He was employed by Federal Express as a pilot. Don's aviation background was quite diverse, from cropdusters to jets, having flown and instructed in over 100 different makes and models of homebuilts, jets, helicopters, sailplanes and classics over the past 43 years. He was author of numerous aviation magazine articles and a book based on his flying experiences, Are We There Yet published in 1999. Don is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joanne DellaCalce Langford of Huntsville ; son, James Daniel Langford of Louisville , Ky. ; daughter, Jessica Ehnen of Jacksonville , N.C. ; three grandsons; mother, Wilma Langford of Huntsville ; and two brothers, Ken Langford of Tampa , Fla. , and Barry Langford of Huntsville . Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Berryhill Funeral Home followed by a 2 p.m. chapel service with the Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens .
